Covid and weddings in north Cyprus

After two years of wedding postponements here in north Cyprus due to Covid and flight restrictions, many couples are now confident in booking their dream wedding here in north Cyprus now the restrictions have been lifted and the exchange rate against the GBP and Euro is so high making a wedding in northern Cyprus more than half the price cheaper.

Weddings in North Cyprus are safe since all weddings are outdoors. All staff in hotels and restaurants etc are tested weekly for Covid 19 and wear masks at all times.

Vaccinated or Recovered: No quarantine

Not vaccinated:
- A negative PCR test taken 72 hours or a negative antigen test taken in the last 24 hours, before travel.
- A PCR test taken within 72 and 120 hours after entry.

Vaccinated individuals:
According to the vaccines defined above, individuals 18 years of age and above that have been vaccinated from 14 days after the second dose of vaccine (a single dose for Johnson) and not over 270 days (9 months) will be considered fully vaccinated. Individuals 18 years of age and above who have exceeded 270 days (9 months) after their second dose of vaccine (one dose for Johnson) and had boosters will be considered as vaccinated.
Individuals between the ages of 12 to 18 (including 12 and 18) without a booster dose where 14 days have passed since the second dose of vaccine (single dose for Johnson) will be considered as vaccinated.
Individuals who have recovered for at least 10 days after a positive PCR test but not over 180 days will be considered as vaccinated.
Individuals who receive two different doses of the specified vaccines above will be considered vaccinated.
Individuals who have recovered from Covid-19 and have had 1 dose of vaccine but not exceeded 90 days will be considered vaccinated.
Children under the age of 12 travelling with their parents will be considered by the same criteria as their vaccinated parents and as defined above for recovered parents.
2. Everyone arriving to enter our country by air-sea routes, and from outside the island using land border crossings will be required to create a Digital Travel Document on the Guvende Kal application or on the www.guvendekalkktc.com website TRNC entry form section 72 hours before travelling.

To create a Digital Travel Document.
Those with a smart device will require to create the Digital Travel Document from within the Guvende Kal application TRNC Travel Form step by downloading it from the Apple Store or Android Market. Those who do not have a smart device are required to fill out the Digital Travel Document at www.guvendekalkktc.com. They will have the digital or hard copy of the completed form available with them.

Individuals wanting to enter the country can register their vaccination documents and pre-travel 72 hour negative PCR test results using the QR reader on their device's camera within the app to read the QR codes on the vaccine documents and PCR test results.

A Digital Travel Document will not be created for individuals under the age of 6 because a Covid-19 test is not required.

It will not be possible for passengers who do complete the "TRNC Entry Form" from the Guvende Kal application or www.guvendekalkktc.com website and do not create a Digital Travel Document QR to enter the TRNC.

Citizens of the Republic of Turkey can automatically upload their digital vaccination documents and PCR test results into the form by logging in their HES codes within the Digital Travel Document.

INTERNAL BORDER CROSSING RULES;
As a result of an assessment of the internal epidemiological situation on the island, Level 3 rules will be applied to border crossings. According to this:

A ) Individuals crossing with a negative PCR or Antigen test taken every 7 days. Individuals who have been fully vaccinated and 14 days have passed since their second dose of Comirnaty (Pfizer/BioNTech), Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca), and Moderna vaccines. Individuals who have not exceeded or taken their booster dose 7 months since their last dose.
Individuals who have been fully vaccinated with Sinovac, Sinopharm, or Sputnik and Johnson& Johnson vaccines and 14 days have passed since their second dose (1st dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine). Individuals who have not exceeded or have taken their booster dose 3 months after their last dose. Unvaccinated middle school students (secondary and high school students), children aged 5-11, and Kato Pyrgos residents.

B ) Individuals crossing with a negative PCR test taken in the last 72 hours/ a negative Antigen test taken in the last 48 hours.
Individuals who have never been vaccinated.
Individuals aged 12 and over, whose booster dose is due and who have not taken the booster dose.

ADAPASS CHECKS.
THE VACCINATION AND PCR CRITERIA TO BE CHECKED ON THE ADAPASS SYSTEM OF PEOPLE ENTERING VENUES/SECTORS/ACTIVITIES/EVENTS ARE SHOWN IN THE TABLE BELOW.

Level 1 –
Vaccinated– No test
Unvaccinated- an Antigen test taken in the last 48 hours
Supermarkets– Retail Shops – Banks - Outdoor Team Sports Fields – Government Offices.

Level 2 -
Vaccinated – No test
Unvaccinated – an Antigen test taken in the last 24 hours
Casinos – Bars/Clubs - Indoor Fitness Centres (Gyms) – Stadiums - Indoor Team Sports Centres – Nightclubs - Group dancing/Ceremony – Concert/Theatre - Weddings (Catered-Cocktail) - Offices– Barbers – Hairdressers – Beauty Salons – Places of Worship - Exhibitions - Swimming Pools – Shopping Centres - Internet Cafes’ – Betting Offices – Hotels - Boxing/Wrestling Training - Youth Camps - General Committee Meetings - Congresses Indoor areas of Restaurants - Meyhanes - Patisseries - Cafes’ - Coffee Shops - Cinemas.

Adapass checks will be made together with ID cards will be mandatory for ages 12 and above.

Adapass checks can be made with an Adapass card, vaccination card, and test result document for ages between 12-18.

NB masks must be worn in all retail shops and supermarkets.
